The homepage design was done by an external design agency and I was tasked with taking it and making it functional. This also turned into finding a way to make the application as lightweight as possible. The initial mockup weighed in at almost two hundred megs. I converted all of the background to vector as well as bits and pieces of several other assets. All of the thumbnails and their respective media were moved externally and loaded in at runtime. I also had to make the loading bars and video controls functional as well as handling everything that occurred when the thumbnails were clicked.
