The penguin is a character that I did mostly for the fun of it, having a somewhat small obsession with the creatures. He was incorporated as a running gag sort of character for the student project Solstice Twist, but I think the lead did it mostly to make me happy.

The penguin was my second large scale project and, as with Puffy, I did the whole thing from start to finish: concept art, model. texture, rigging, and animation. I went for the more cartoony look for him so he would fit in with the rest of the characters and to increase the whole "cute" appeal. It ended up being a very difficult character to try and learn a walk cycle with, however, since penguins have such a bizarre way of walking and running.
